👋 Hi, I’m Jared!

I’m a 4th year mechanical engineering student at Northwestern University, concentrating in robotics. Starting Fall 2025, I’ll also be pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (thesis track) as a member of the Interactive and Emergent Autonomy Lab, led by Dr. Todd Murphey.

My thesis is about using latent world dynamics models to improve the robustness of robot control strategies, and elicit more optimal long-horizon decisions and planning strategies in uncertain environments. I will be pursuing industry research positions or further graduate study full time after my graduation in June 2026.

🤖 What I Do

I specialize in building intelligent robotic systems that blend:

  • Reinforcement learning
  • Control theory
  • Machine learning
  • Simulation
  • Embedded Systems

My experience includes:

  • Reinforcement learning for a high DOF dexterous robot
  • Sim-to-real optimization with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques
  • Developing simulation frameworks for RL and generative modeling applications
  • Designing trajectory optimization pipelines for autonomous agents
  • Programming intelligent systems for robotic arms and mobile robots
  • ML architecture design for clinical research

I’m especially passionate about making systems that model the world around them, and learn to adapt to their environments in real time.
